Adult English Language Learners (ELL) Program
  • Focus: Grammar, Writing, Reading, Speaking & Listening

Placement Test
All adult ESOL students are required to take the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) placement test. Tests are given by appointment only. Students must pay a nonrefundable testing fee of $30 at the time of scheduling. Fees may be paid by phone with a credit card or in person. Students need to bring their government-issued picture identification at the time of testing. Tests can take 3-4 hours, so please plan accordingly and arrive at your scheduled testing time.


Dates and Times
On-campus: Monday - Thursday (students will be assigned class times)
Blended instruction: Allows students to combine both on campus AND online instruction
     (Internet access and device required when working away from campus)

*Classes are held in accordance with ECTC school calendar – schedule to be provided
*Enrollment is based on availability.

Enrollment Requirements

The program is open to students who are 18 years of age and older or 16 and older with no requirement to be enrolled in the K-12 public school system. If a waiver is required, students will be directed to the appropriate contact at the Walton County School District. Students enrolled in ECTC’s adult ESOL program may not be simultaneously enrolled in an English Literacy for Career and Technical Education (ELCATE) course.

*Enrollment conditions apply in accordance with the ECTC student handbook. Students must attend their scheduled classes, commit to working in the program a combined total of 8-12 hours per week minimum, and must communicate with the instructor in order to maintain enrollment. Students are also responsible for abiding by the terms of the WCSD Code of Conduct including the use of technology and parking policies. The Code of Conduct can be found online.
