Welcome back to campus on Wednesday. We hope that you and your families are safe following the recent hurricane.
We recognize that while the storm may have passed, its impact may still be felt by many of you. Some may be dealing with property damage, disruptions to daily life, or challenges that make returning to school difficult. Please know that you are not alone, and your ECTC family is here to support you.
We also understand that many of you have responsibilities that extend far beyond the classroom. Some of you are parents who must first ensure that your children and families are safe and cared for. Others have jobs, financial obligations, or loved ones who depend on you. We recognize that balancing these responsibilities with your education can be challenging under normal circumstances, and even more so following a hurricane. We understand that sometimes life must take priority, and we want to work with you as you navigate these challenges.
At Emerald Coast Technical College, our commitment extends far beyond the classroom. We care not only about your education and career goals, but also about your well-being and the challenges you face along the way.
As we return to our normal routines, I encourage anyone experiencing difficulties as a result of the storm to communicate with your instructors or our administration. We will listen, demonstrate understanding, and work with you to identify reasonable ways to provide support while helping you continue making progress toward your goals.
Storms may interrupt our plans, but they do not have to derail our dreams. Your education is an investment in a better future, not only for yourself but also for the families who depend on you. We remain committed to helping you reach that future, even when the journey becomes difficult.

Experiences like this allow our students to take what they are learning in the classroom and apply it in a real healthcare setting while working alongside healthcare professionals. Our students gained valuable hands-on experience, continued building their confidence and skills, and had the opportunity to serve others along the way.
ECTC PN instructors Shannon Whitfield and Chelsea Standland were also there supporting and guiding our students throughout this valuable learning experience. ❤️🤍💙

Joining the class were Brittany Clark, RN, MSN, Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), and Liza Dokken, RN, MSN, Director of Nursing (DON). They shared their experiences in the nursing profession, discussed career opportunities at The Manor, and offered valuable insight to our future nurses as they prepare to begin their own careers.
But what made this visit even more special was the ECTC connection! ❤️

Our students will have the opportunity to learn more about air medical services and the variety of career opportunities available in the healthcare profession. Experiences like this give our students a firsthand look at where their healthcare training can take them and introduce them to career paths they may not have considered before.
