VA Training Time (Clock-Hour Programs)

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs® (VA) determines a student’s training time based on the number of clock hours scheduled per week in an approved program.

Programs at Emerald Coast Technical College operate on different weekly schedules. As a result, the number of hours required for full-time enrollment may vary depending on the program.

VA training time is based on the approved program schedule and certified enrollment reported by the school.

Programs Scheduled at 22 Clock Hours Per Week

Full-Time: 22 or more hours
Three-Quarter Time: 17–21 hours
Half-Time: 11–16 hours

Important Information for VA Students

  • VA training time is determined by the scheduled clock hours per week in an approved program and the enrollment certified by the school.

  • Changes to enrollment, program schedule, or attendance may affect VA benefit payments.

  • If a student withdraws, drops, or stops attending, Emerald Coast Technical College is required to report the last date of attendance to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs® (VA).

  • Benefit payments are determined by the VA, not by the school.

  • Students are responsible for monitoring their VA benefit payments and reporting any enrollment changes to the Financial Aid Office.
