✂️ Cut Above the Rest ✂️

Our Cosmetology students at Emerald Coast Technical College had the opportunity to learn from a representative with ICON Shears during a hands-on shear presentation!

Students explored different shear sizes, styles, and designs, tested them firsthand, and learned why proper ergonomics matter in the salon. From comfort and control to preventing long-term strain, choosing the right tools is just as important as mastering technique.

We love bringing industry experts into the classroom to give our students real-world knowledge—and a chance to find the tools that fit them best. ✂️

🩸 Counting Every Stick Toward Success! 🩸

Our Phlebotomy students are officially tallying up their successful sticks as they finish out the program—and these photos capture exactly what that achievement looks like in real time.

📸 Shown here, a student confidently performs a successful venipuncture on an ECTC employee, demonstrating proper preparation, vein selection, needle insertion, blood collection, and post-stick care. From gloving up and assembling supplies to securing the site and applying pressure, every step reflects the precision, professionalism, and patient care our students have worked so hard to master.

Each successful stick represents skill, focus, and growth—and getting those final tallies means our students are one step closer to entering the healthcare workforce with confidence.

Way to go, Phlebotomy students! Your hard work truly shows.
