Programs Eligible for Money-Back Guarantee

In compliance with the Money-back Guarantee program Senate Bill 240 (2023) amended section (s.) 1011.803, Florida Statutes (F. S.) the above-listed three (3) Career and Technical Education programs will be subject to the Money-back Guarantee Program. Self-paid students in these programs have 30 days to apply six (6) months after their program completion date. 

Emerald Coast Technical College will provide the Money-Back Guarantee Program if the following eligibility criteria are met:

  • Students must have been self-paid, and have not received federal or state financial aid grants, scholarships, or third-party agency employer funding.

  • Students must have completed an eligible program and could not obtain employment in their respective industry within six (6) months of program completion.

    • Completion includes:

      1. Receiving a program certificate

      2. Passing an industry credential or licensure exam aligned with your respective program within three (3) months of the program completion.

  • Students must meet attendance requirements according to the Emerald Coast Technical College Student Handbook (90% or higher)

  • Students must meet the program performance per Emerald Coast Technical College Student Handbook- see “Student Rights and Responsibilities,” “Student Code of Conduct,” “Academic Dishonesty,” “Copyright Infringement,” and “Alcohol, Drugs, Illegal Substances.”

  • Job Search documentation to include at least 25 employment applications with evidence of 10 good faith interviews related to your respective field of study. 

  • Students must register with Employ Florida and show evidence of enrollment.

*All criteria must be met when submitting a request for a tuition refund to be deemed eligible.

  • Email Student Services requesting a tuition refund under the Money-back Guarantee program and include all eligibility criteria listed above
