Emerald Coast Technical College is committed to providing clear and accessible information regarding institutional policies, financial aid, student rights, and student outcomes. The following disclosures are provided in accordance with federal and state requirements.

Student Policies & Consumer Information

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Student educational records are protected in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Walton County School District policies.

Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program (DAAPP)

ECTC follows the Walton County School District Student Code of Conduct, which includes the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program. Information includes standards of conduct, disciplinary sanctions, health risks associated with substance abuse, and available counseling and treatment resources.

Voter Registration Information

Information regarding voter registration in the State of Florida is available to students.

Constitution Day

Emerald Coast Technical College observes Constitution Day annually on September 17 through educational activities and informational materials.

Annual Security Report and Clery Act

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, Emerald Coast Technical College publishes an Annual Security Report containing campus safety policies and crime statistics obtained from local law enforcement agencies.

Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (Campus SaVE Act) and Title IX

ECTC prohibits sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, sexual misconduct, and sexual harassment. Information regarding reporting procedures, prevention programs, student rights, and available resources is provided through Student Services and Title IX procedures.

Safeguarding Student Information (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act)

ECTC maintains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect student information in accordance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).

Copyright Infringement and Illegal File Sharing

Unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material, including peer-to-peer file sharing, may subject students to civil and criminal liabilities as well as institutional disciplinary action. Students are expected to comply with all applicable copyright laws and the Walton County School District Acceptable Use Policy.

Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA)

ECTC does not participate in intercollegiate athletics; therefore, Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act reporting requirements do not apply.

Fire Safety Report

ECTC does not provide on-campus student housing; therefore, fire safety reporting requirements do not apply.

Summary of Reported Crimes

This annual security report is prepared as part of the Student Handbook & Program Catalog and in compliance with the Federal Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act. Crime statistical data is based on information obtained through local police agencies. Reports concerning criminal actions or other emergencies should be directed to the onsite administrator.
