The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is used to determine eligibility for federal and many state financial aid programs. Students should complete the FAFSA each year they plan to attend Emerald Coast Technical College.

Before You Begin

Students and contributors (parents or spouses, if required) should:

  • Create an FSA ID at StudentAid.gov

  • Gather 2024 tax information for the 2026–2027 FAFSA

  • Know their Social Security Number and date of birth

  • Provide consent for the IRS Direct Data Exchange (DDX)

After You Submit

After submitting the FAFSA:

  1. Monitor your email for updates from Federal Student Aid.

  2. Review your FAFSA Submission Summary.

  3. Respond promptly to any requests for additional information.

  4. Check your ECTC student email regularly for communication from the Financial Aid Office.
