What is Pathways Academy?
Pathways Academy is a Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program for adults with intellectual disabilities that provides additional support to students enrolled in career-technical education programs. Pathways Academy supports students in acquiring the skills they need to achieve their goals of meaningful employment and independence. Eligible students will receive a scholarship from the Florida Center for Students with Unique Abilities.

Eligibility Requirements
Pathways Academy students must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:
Documentation of an intellectual disability (Federal law re: ID)
High school diploma or the equivalent prior to enrollment
Minimum of 18 years prior to enrollment
Must be able to Independently and safely navigate the campus
Must be able to attend to all aspects of personal care – including hygiene and grooming
Must be able to function without constant or close supervision
Must demonstrate basic math, literacy, and computer skills
Must be respectful and responsive to authority - ability to take direction and receive feedback
Must have effective communication skills
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and complete tasks as directed
Must have the ability and willingness to follow all safety guidelines and conduct rules as indicated by the ECTC Student Handbook, WCSD Code of Conduct, and instructors
Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced changing, environment
Must be able to manage time and adhere to a schedule
Must possess the desire, motivation, and ability to attend and complete the postsecondary program
Must have a desire to seek and maintain employment
In addition to basic eligibility requirements, admissions will be based on the following:
Must demonstrate a desire to be enrolled in Pathways Academy and adhere to the Pathways Academy policies regarding attendance, participation, and behaviors, as well as, a willingness to follow all rules and regulations included in the ECTC Student Handbook and Walton County School District Code of Conduct.
Must have a behavior history conducive to the postsecondary and employment settings (no record or demonstration of unsafe, offensive, or disruptive behaviors)
Must have a positive attendance history (as reflected by postsecondary or employment records)
Must recognize and adhere to safety precautions and emergency procedures
Must demonstrate a level of social and emotional maturity conducive to the postsecondary and employment settings
Must have access to reliable transportation

Vocational Rehabilitation
Pathways Academy will partner with Vocational Rehabilitation to provide services to students. Go to Rehab Works website for more information on becoming a Vocational Rehabilitation client.
Scholarships
Students who are eligible for Pathways Academy will qualify for Florida Comprehensive Transition Program Scholarships. The Program Facilitator will complete scholarship applications on behalf of eligible students once the enrollment process is complete.
